The meaning of the lyric of this song is kind of dark since it's talking about an addict who has the addiction of drugs, alcohol, or cigarette and want to forget the pain.
Through the part of the lyric, "I'm picking me apart again/ You all assume/ I'm safe here in my room/ unless I try to start again", I think the narrator in the song is trying to get rid of his addiction and persuade himself that locking himself is the way to prevent him from taking drugs or self harming. Through the other part of the lyric, "I don't want to be the one/ The battles always choose/ 'Cause inside I realize/ That I'm the one confused", I think the narrator in the song is explaining the process of fighting with his addiction, and he doesn't want to be suffered under the pain anymore.
